LANSING, Mich. – The Madonna University men's bowling team saw their conference title hopes cut short this past Saturday at the 2026 WHAC Championship, held at Royal Scot Lanes
. Despite a hard-fought effort in the opening round, the Crusaders were unable to find their rhythm in the elimination bracket, ending their run in the double-elimination tournament.
The #6 seeded Crusaders opened the day at 8:00 AM against the #3 seeded St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Saints. Madonna put up a massive fight, pushing the match to five games. The Crusaders showed flashes of brilliance with games of 216,199, 203,and 202, but the Fighting Saints proved too consistent, edging out Madonna with a 3-2 match victory. The loss forced Madonna into the lower bracket for a "win-or-go-home" scenario.
Moving to lane 35/36 for Round 2, the Crusaders faced off against #2 Lawrence Tech. Unfortunately, the Blue Devils found their mark early, sweeping the match 3-0. Madonna struggled to keep pace in the final set, posting scores of 165, 187, and 185. With the second loss, the Crusaders' post-season journey at the WHAC Championship came to an official close.
The tournament concluded with Aquinas College being crowned the 2026 WHAC Champions. The Saints battled back through the lower bracket, eventually defeating Lourdes University in a decisive final match.
