THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. - Madonna University men's and women's golf team were right back on the course after theHidden Creek Invitational on Aug. 31 - Sept. 1. They now made their way to Thompsonville, Michigan for the LTU Collegiate Kickoff hosted by Lawrence Tech University. Freshman
John Truxal again would lead the way for the men's team, finishing tied for eighth again individually shooting 17 over for three rounds, helping the Crusaders finish fifth out of eleven teams. The women were led by Freshman
Grace Brees who shot 49 but the Crusaders would finish last in this tournament at fifth place with a total team score of +215.
On the first day of the LTU Collegiate Kickoff, the Madonna men's team was in third place after shooting 25 over as a team. But struggles in round two dropped the Crusaders down to fifth. Despite having a strong third round (+20 as a team) the Crusaders were unable to move up any spots and would finish in fifth on the weekend.
On the Women's side, the Crusaders found themselves in last as they struggled in round one and two but in round three the Crusaders made a push to get into fourth shooting 60 over as a team but were unable to bridge the gap.
UP NEXT
The team will return to competition on Monday, September 9th, at the Point O'Woods Collegiate at Point O'Woods Golf and Country Club in Benton Harbor, Mich. hosted by Rochester Christian University. Competitors will begin teeing off at 9:00 a.m.
