BENTON HARBOR, Mich. - Madonna University men's and women's golf team traveled across the state to Benton Harbor, Mich. for the Point O'Woods Collegiate at Point O'Woods Golf and Country Club for a one day match hosted by Rochester Christian University. The Men's team played two rounds while the Women just played one. Freshman
Logan Palmateer would lead the way for the men's team, finishing tied for fifth individually shooting 11 over for two rounds, helping the Crusaders finish third out of four teams. The women were led by Sophomore
Sandreea Cueva who finished seven over which was good for 10th place individually. The Crusaders would finish third out of six teams with 51 over collectively.
Along with Palmateer, the Crusaders also saw strong performances from Charles Teed (+15) and Evan Westphal (+17) who finished 8th and 9th respectively. But struggles in round two dropped the Crusaders down to fifth. The men finished in third shooting 66 over which was 24 strokes more than second place WHAC opponent Cleary who finished 42 over. Wheaton finished in first place shooting 28 over as a team.
On the Women's side, the Crusaders also saw strong play from Madison Brigance and Grace Brees who tied for 16th with each of them shooting 13 over. The women missed out on second place by just eight strokes to Elmhurst University. The University of Illinois-Chicago finished in first with an impressive 11 over as a team.

The Crusaders will return to competition on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 17th and 18th, as they travel to Sylvania, Ohio for the Lourdes Invite at the Sylvania Country Club.. Competitors will begin teeing off at 10:00 a.m.
