LIMA, Ohio - Madonna University men's and women's golf team kicked off the 2024-25 season at the Hidden Creek Invitational, hosted by the University of Northwestern Ohio on Aug. 31 - Sept. 1. Freshman
John Truxal led the way for the men's team, finishing tied for eighth individually shooting two over, helping the Crusaders finish fourth out of eight teams. The women were led by Junior
Madison Brigance who shot 37 over but was closely followed by all of her teammates who finished the next five places below her to help the women finish third out of six teams.
On the first day of the invitational at Hidden Creek Golf Course, the Madonna men's team was in fifth place after shooting 301 as a team. But a strong second and third round of 293 and 298 helped the Crusaders move up a spot to take the fourth place finish and finish in front of WHAC opponent Lourdes by one stroke.
On the Women's side after day one, the Crusaders found themselves in third and maintained their position throughout the tournament shooting a 333 in round one, a 330 in round two, and finally a 349 on day three.
UP NEXT
The team will return to competition on Tuesday, September 3, at the LTU Collegiate Kickoff, hosted by Lawrence Tech University. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and will be a two day tournament held at Crystal Mountain Golf Course in Thompsonville, Mich.
