Crusaders compete at SVSU and Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Madonna University track and field competed at SVSU and the University of Michigan this past weekend. 

DeVeyon Blacknell qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the 60-meter dash. He won the event at Michigan with a time of 6.76 seconds. At SVSU, Emanuel Rogers finished third in the 300-meter dash with a school record time of 35.68 seconds. DeMarrio Roetherford won the weight throw event with a personal best toss of 16.23 meters.

At Michigan, Charity Jones ran the second fastest women's 300-meter dash time in NAIA history of 40.22 seconds. Ny'tierra Hobbs broke the school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.62 seconds.

The Crusaders will be back in action Saturday at Eastern Michigan and Spire Institute.
