GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Playing their second game in two days and fourth straight contest against a team ranked in the NAIA Coaches' Poll in the past seven days, the Madonna University women's lacrosse team fell to fourth-ranked Davenport University 30-0 at the DU Turf Field.
The Crusaders, who fell to 0-7 in their inaugural season and 0-5 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play, competed with just 12 student-athletes and couldn't quite keep up with the Panthers who move to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in league play.
Madonna posted four shots in the contest with Sarah Carlson (SR/Romulus, Mich.) attempting three including MU's two shots on net. Stephanie Mackley (SR/Livonia, Mich.) made nine saves in the contest as she faced 49 shots with 39 on frame.
The Blue and Gold return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 29 when they travel to Adrian, Michigan to face ninth-ranked Siena Heights at 7 p.m.
