GEORGETOWN, Kentucky. – The Madonna University Women's Lacrosse team kicked off their 2025 regular season campaign by taking a road trip down to Kentucky to face the RV Georgetown College Tigers. The Tigers would get the best of the Crusaders at home by securing a 18-1 win.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders started the season against a solid Georgetown College team who is currently receiving votes to be in the top 25 in the NAIA Women's Lacrosse rankings. The Tigers wasted no time by working the ball around and finding the back of the net. Georgetown saw most of their offensive dominance come from Aubree Lair and Katerina Gilbert. Lair would put up a staggering six goals while Gilbert would finish with an impressive five goals. Along with the goals came assist from both Lair and Gilbert as Lair notched four assists and Gilbert generating five assists. Both players ended the game with ten points each.
 
The Crusaders would find the back of the net at the 5:56 minute mark in the third quarter as Madi Conrad sends a pass down to Sydney Pattison as she was rushing towards the net and with a quick shot Pattison breaks the shutout for Georgetown.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Madonna generated 20 shots against Georgetown.
• Ri O'Connor secured four shots on goal.

 
UP NEXT:

The Crusaders will be on the road again when they travel to Alma, Michigan to take on Alma College on Wednesday March 5, 2025 with a start time of 5:30 PM.
