LIVONIA, Mich. – Coming off a gritty win against Rochester Christian University, the Crusaders welcomed Anderson University (Ind.) to Livonia, Michigan for a late Tuesday afternoon game. Madonna would secure their third win on the season after defeating the Ravens 11-to-7 in a back-and-forth battle.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
This game would be a back-and-forth battle between the Ravens and Crusaders. The first quarter would start with Madonna scoring first with a goal by
Sydney Pattinson assisted by Olivia Lazneby. Anderson's Sarah Weist would answer just over a minute later to tie the game at one a piece. Just before the end of the first quarter Pattinson would give the Crusaders the 2-to-1 lead, heading into the second quarter.
The second quarter would see the most scoring in the game. Anderson and Madonna would trade goals equally roughly with Pattinson picking up another two goals and
Ri O'Connor picking up two goals as well. The Crusaders would hold a two-goal lead heading into the third quarter with a score of 8-to-6.
Third quarter action would see a solid amount of scoring as well. Lazenby would snag her first and only goal of the game at the 10:58 minute mark. Pattinson would follow up her goal with one of her own to give the Crusaders a three-goal lead. Anderson would answer with two goals, but not without the Crusaders answering one of them when
Madi Conrad would bury a goal at the 7:44 minute mark. Madonna would continue to hold their lead heading into the final quarter with a score of 9-to-7.
Madonna would do all the scoring in the fourth quarter with Pattison picking up her astonishing sixth goal of the game at the 10:05 minute mark. The remainer of the game would go scoreless until
Erika Hernandez would put the nail in the coffin for the Crusaders by scoring and giving us a final score of 11-to-7. Madonna moved to 2-and-4 on the season and continue to be undefeated at home!
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Pattinson finished the contest with six goals and one assist for a seven-point game.
- Madonna would secure 28 ground balls.
- Ri O'Connor would have an impressive five-point game with two goals and three assists.

The Crusaders will be back in action again at home when they welcome Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) to the MU Soccer and Lacrosse Field on Thursday March 20, 2025. The game is set to start at 4:00 PM.
