LIVONIA, Mich. – The Crusaders coming off a huge second win on the season against Anderson University, took on Saint Ambrose University in a typical Michigan weather game. Rain, snow, and wind were present but both teams battled through. Saint Ambrose and Madonna were in a close battle until the Fighting Bees took over and ultimately ran away with the win.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

First quarter action would see the Fight Bees come out strong with a 4-to-0 lead up until the 3:53 minute mark when Sydney Pattinson would continue her goal streak and give the Crusaders their first goal of the game. As the first was ending, Saint Ambrose's Raegan Dotterer would answer back to give the Fighting Bees a four-goal lead heading into the second quarter.
 
Madonna would show some life in the second quarter by stringing together three goals in a row with contributions from Adrianna Kennedy and Hannah Dickson. Although the Crusaders would outscore the Fighting Bees 3-to-2 in the second quarter, Saint Ambrose would pot two more goals to end the quarter with goals from Anabelle Brown and Katie McGlynn. Madonna would head into the half only trailing by three goals with a score of 7-to-4.
 
As the third quarter began, Saint Ambrose would waste no time in adding to their total as the third quarter would be all Fighting Bee scoring. Saint Ambrose would really start to pull away by notching seven goals in the third quarter. At the end of the third quarter, Saint Ambrose would take a commanding lead with a score of 14-to-4.
 
Finally, with the fourth quarter in action, the Fighting Bees would continue their goal scoring by putting up three goals throughout the middle stages of the final quarter to go up 17-to-4. Madonna would get the final strike on the box score with Madi Conrad scoring to give Madonna their fifth and final goal. With the loss, the Crusaders will move to 2-and-5 on the season.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Madonna picked up 16 ground balls.
• The Crusader goaltenders would make nine saves.
• Four different Crusaders would record two points.

Madonna will travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana next to take on #9 Indiana Tech University on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The evening matchup between the Warriors and Crusaders is set to start at 6:00 PM.
