LIVONIA, Mich. – Madonna University has officially appointed Scott Duhl as the new head women's soccer coach, effective December 3, 2025. Duhl brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the assistant women's soccer coach at Schoolcraft College as well as the MLS Next AD, NAL and both Boys and Girls MSPSP Director for the Michigan Wolves.
"Coach Duhl brings a wealth of experience, having built and supported successful programs across multiple levels," said Madonna Director of Athletics Noel Emenhiser. "He has demonstrated not only the ability to produce competitive success, but also to develop leadership and support education. Coach Duhl aligns strongly with Madonna University's mission to deliver an outstanding student experience while striving for competitive excellence. We couldn't be more thrilled to have him lead us into this new chapter of Madonna Athletics."
During his time at Schoolcraft from 2021 to 2025, Duhl helped lead the program to five straight NJCAA Division II National Tournaments, including a National Quarterfinals appearance in 2022. He has also coached across multiple divisions and teams. While coaching with the Michigan Wolves, his MLS Next Homegrown teams qualified for the playoffs all three seasons, with his U19 team reaching the National Quarterfinals. As the head men's and women's soccer coach at Salem, he led the men's team to a State Semifinal appearance in 2013 and guided the women's program to two district final berths.
"I'm super excited for the opportunity to serve as the women's head coach at Madonna University," said Duhl. "Madonna is a great place to learn and grow as an individual, and I believe Livonia is the soccer mecca of Michigan—with two elite universities and a strong youth soccer system shared by two clubs. Even more important are the surrounding communities, which have a rich history of developing excellent soccer players and, more importantly, successful people. I came to Madonna to take on a new challenge, one I have not faced yet. Leading a college soccer program is something I've dreamed of since my own college playing days. I hope to instill trust and belief in the young women we work with, helping guide them to success in the classroom and championships on the field."
Duhl's background includes extensive experience in program development, leadership, and organizational strategy. He played collegiately for Western Michigan University from 2000–2003, where he was a four-time All–Mid-American Conference honoree, a two-time First Team selection ('02 & '03), and a Third Team All-Region selection in 2003 after helping lead the Broncos to their first—and only—NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. He was also a two-time team MVP ('00 & '03). His accomplishments and impact on the program led to his induction into the Western Michigan University Hall of Fame in 2019. He currently holds a U.S. Soccer Federation National "B" License and is enrolled in the "A" License course.
