HOW IT HAPPENED

The Crusaders faced off against closely ranked WHAC opponent Cleary in a battle for the 8th place spot in the conference. The first quarter saw plenty of back and forth action with the Crusaders and Cougars exchanging points leaving the Crusaders down 18-17 after the first quarter. The second quarter was much of the same in this even matchup with the largest lead being four in favor of the Cougars but it was the Crusaders lead by Keairra Jennings that would take a two point lead heading into the half at 36-34.

Going into the second half the Crusaders found their strength in Faith Jungwirth who would score 14 of her 22 points in the second half starting in the third where she would score 6 on 3-4 shooting to keep the Crusaders close down just two heading into the fourth quarter.  In the fourth it was more of Jungwirth who would put up 8 in the fourth quarter but it would be strong free throw shooting down the stretch from the Cougars who would go 12-15 from the line in the fourth that would seal it, taking down the Crusaders 78-69.
