LIVONIA, Mich. – It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Madonna Athletics Hall of Famer, Jeremy Gooding, age 33, on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Gooding was a part of the Madonna Athletics 2023 Hall of Fame Class as one of the best pitchers in Crusader baseball history. Gooding was a four-time First Team All-WHAC recipient and two-time Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Pitcher of the Year. He holds career school records for lowest career ERA (1.78), strikeouts per nine innings (9.25), innings pitched (308.1), strikeouts (317), and wins (31). He was named a First Team All-American in 2011 and Honorable Mention in 2012 and 2013. Gooding was a part of a team that won three WHAC Regular Season titles (2009, 2010, 2011), and made NAIA Tournament appearances in 2009, 2010, and 2013.
The following arrangements are being handled by Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home. Visitation will be held tomorrow, Thursday, July 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West, Plymouth.
On Friday, there will be another quick visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the funeral services immediately after. Both will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth, Michigan.
