HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Madonna University men's basketball team went on the road and defeated No. 17 Huntington University 95-86 inside Platt Arena on Wednesday night. The Crusaders are 3-2 overall early in the 2023-24 season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The teams traded baskets in the opening half, with the host Foresters jumping out to a six-point advantage. Madonna however responded and went into the locker room trailing Huntington 42-40. Isaac Anderson led the Crusaders in the first 20 minutes with 12 points, while Brendan Young hauled in nine rebounds. As a team Madonna was 14-of-28 from the field and 6-16 from three-point land. The Foresters were led by Zach Goodline's 13 points in the first half. 

In the second half, Madonna's offense exploded, outscoring the hosts 55-44 in the period. The Crusaders largest lead in the second half came with eight minutes remaining when they were up 12 points. Huntington did their best to climb out of the hole, but came up short and were handed their second loss of the season. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Young finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double.
• Anderson added 19 points for the Crusaders, while Ethan Emerzian posted 13 off the bench. 
• Devin Dunn scored 12 points while Sho-Ron Graham added 10. 
• Madonna ended their night shooting 30-of-57 from the field, 13-of-31 from deep, and 22-of-25 from the free throw line. 
• Reigning Crossroads League Player of the Year Zach Goodline led the Foresters with 22 points.
