LIVONIA, Mich. -- Scott Barbe has been announced as the new Head Volleyball Coach on Monday after four seasons as the men's Head Coach at Cumberland University (Tenn.).

His resume and commitment to his student-athletes have spoken volumes about his ability to recruit and develop students that have a firm confidence in themselves," said Madonna Athletic Director Scott Kennell.

After five years as the men's Head Coach at Cumberland, Barbe had previous stops as the women's Head Coach at Ave Maria University (Fla.). Barbe was able to find success at both schools, as he was responsible for the single best season in school history at Cumberland and Ave Maria.    

"I am very grateful to Scott Kennell for the opportunity to continue the rich tradition of Madonna Volleyball. " said Barbe, "I'm really excited about the opportunity with great athletes, great facilities, and I'm excited to get started with everyone, and have another successful year."

The Michigan native attended Walsh College (Mich.) where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing in 2000. Three years later, graduated from Walsh again, but this time with his Master's of Science in Management with a specialization in Business Operations.
