ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Madonna University Men's and Women's Track & Field teams earned a plethora of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference titles on Friday, as the championship meet culminated on the campus of Concordia University of Ann Arbor. The men's team finished third in the conference, while the women finished fifth.

The men won the conference championship in six different events:

• Steven Anderson, 110 meter hurdles, 14.28 seconds
• Steven Anderson, 400 meter hurdles, 53.28 seconds
• Cortez Cunningham, 200 meters, 21.31 seconds
• Matthew Vaughn, 800 meter dash, 1:57.66
• RJ Cannon, Cortez Cunningham, Cobey Hall, Dy'Shone Hayes, 4x100 meters, 41.21
• Alex Hunt, discus, 48.64 meters

Along with his two first-place finishes, Cunningham was awarded men's performer of the meet.

Emilee Kessler won the conference championship in three different events:

• Discus, 43.47 meters
• Hammer throw, 49.56 meters
• Shotput, 12.10 meters

The women's team also had several podium finishes in events:

• 2nd: Anaiya Jones, Nekold Jones, Nia Wood, Alysa Coleman, 4x100 meters, 48.18 seconds
• 3rd: Nia Wood, Kamry Brown, Jessica Phillips, Alysa Coleman, 4x400 meters, 4:01.00
• 3rd: Katherine Haupt, Isabella Blomberg, Mackenzie Gurne, Jessica Phillips, 4x800 meters, 10:06.38
• 3rd: Jessica Phillips, 800 meters, 2:18.01
• 3rd: Alysa Coleman, 200 meters, 25.98 seconds
• 3rd: Kayla Brown, 400 meters, 57.39 seconds

The outdoor track and field teams will finish up at the NAIA National Championships, on May 25 through 27. The meet will take place at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala.
