ASHEVILLE, NC -- Madonna University track and field continued its strong showing at the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Thursday as the Crusaders added two more individual qualifications into championship finals in Asheville, North Carolina.
After qualifying for the women's 200-meter finals on Wednesday,
Charity Jones added another finals appearance to her national meet resume in the women's 400-meter dash. Jones posted a time of 54.16 seconds in the preliminary round to finish fifth overall and secure her place in the national championship final.
On the men's side, Netanel Dorothea continued an outstanding week for the Crusaders by qualifying for yet another final. Dorothea finished third overall in the men's 400-meter preliminaries with a time of 46.36 seconds, earning one of the top qualifying spots heading into the finals.
The Thursday performances added to an already successful opening to the national meet for Madonna after both Jones and Dorothea advanced in the 200-meter dash on Wednesday. The Crusaders also qualified the men's 4x100-meter relay team for the finals earlier in the week with a time of 40.02 seconds.
With multiple athletes advancing to championship races, Madonna will look to close out the national meet with All-American performances as competition continues in Asheville.
