Five School Record Fall at Jet's Pizza Invitational

SAGINAW, Mich.--  The Madonna University Men's and Women's Track & Field team in action Friday and Saturday at Saginaw Valley State University for the Jet's Pizza Invitational and saw five school records fall. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the men's weight throw, Gevon Foreman improved his national qualifying mark and broke his own school record with a throw of 17.55m. In the women's 200m dash we would see our second school record fall with Jayla Brown running a time of 25.50 seconds. 

Emilee Kessler would break the school record and improve on her national qualifying mark in the women's weight throw with a throw of 16.13m. Kessler also broke the school record in the shot put with a throw of 11.94m. Hope Kushion was the last person to break a school record this weekend and that was in the pentathlon.

In the men's 60m dash, Dy'Shone Hayes came in second place with a time of 7.11 seconds. Kamry Brown was a fifth place finisher in the women's 400m dash at 58.86 seconds. Ugochukwu Anidobu was fourth in the men's 200m dash, Ryan Beltz finished in second place in the long jump and in the men's shot put Alex Hunt had a personal record and came in fourth.

  • Kessler school record in Women's weight throw, 16.13m
  • Kessler school record in Women's shot put, 11.94m
  • Kushion school record in Women's pentathlon 


UP NEXT

Both teams will compete next week Friday, February 4, at Concordia University Ann Arbor for the Concordia Red, White and Blue Classic
