LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Madonna University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team has made its first appearance in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Top 25 poll for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Outdoor Track & Field season on Wednesday. 

Madonna comes in 12th in the poll for the first time in outdoor program history garnering 134.76 points, the second of two teams ranked from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. This comes on the heels of the squad's performance at the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational where juniors Steven Anderson and Cortez Cunningham boasted performances that generated WHAC Athletes of the Week awards on Monday.

This is the first poll of the season to come out for the USTFCCCA with Southeastern University (Fla.) coming in at No. 1, Milligan University (Tenn.) at No. 2, and Montreat College (N.C.) at No. 3, respectively. The only other WHAC school ranked is Indiana Tech University at No. 4.

TAKE NOTE

• This is the first time the outdoor program has been ranked in any poll
• Two teams from the WHAC are ranked, No. 4 Indiana Tech and No. 12 Madonna
• Four teams from the USTFCCCA's Great Lakes Region appear in the top 25 in addition to Indiana Tech and Madonna. They are No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan university and No. 25 Bethel College (Ind.)

The team will see action on Saturday, April 3 in Upland, Indiana for the George Glass Invitational hosted by Taylor University (Ind.).
