Madonna Athletics statement on racial justice - Enough is Enough

Dear Crusader Nation,

Over the past several weeks, we have witnessed social unrest as our nation struggles to come to terms with the feelings of anger, and frustration surrounding the latest racial bias, inequality and injustice in our society.  

Now, more than ever, we need to stand up with our brothers and sisters of all races and become active participants in developing a solution. We must connect and listen. Then we need to roll up our sleeves and work together to end racism and create equality. The young adults we work with on a daily basis deserve better. We owe it to them to give our very best effort and to see this through. 

As Madonna University Crusaders, we will hold discussions with the leaders of our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Then we will engage our student-athletes, coaches, and administrators in a concerted effort to speak out against racism, and to take action that demonstrates our commitment to bringing about meaningful change to stop the spread of racial bias and social injustice.

We have lots of work to do and we will do it together. If you have specific issues and concerns you'd like to address, please feel free to reach out to any leaders within the athletics department and we'd be happy to have those discussions.
