LIVONIA, Mich.- Late in the day on Friday (March 13), the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference released the below statement announcing the cancelation of the 2020 spring athletic season. Madonna University, as a member of the WHAC, will be canceling all games and practices for the remainder of the academic year.
In an abundance of caution and a desire to contain the spread of COVID-19, presidents of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) members have canceled all WHAC athletic activities for the remaining 2019-20     athletic season effective March 14. This cancelation includes all competitions and organized practices for all 23 sports.
"This has been the most disruptive week I have ever experienced in 35 years of intercollegiate athletics," said WHAC Commissioner Rob Miller. "During this uncharted time, I have been very impressed with the leadership     from presidents and athletics directors of our member schools."
With the health and safety of WHAC communities as the top priority, the leadership set the course of action in place late Friday afternoon. The WHAC will use the spring to prepare to fully engage the student-athletes in the     2020-21 athletic season.Â
