Hangin' With Hebel: MU Lacrosse to Polish Heritage Lacrosse

10/28/2019 12:02:00 PM

Hello everyone and welcome back for Episode 6: MU Lacrosse to Polish Heritage Lacrosse. Two players currently on the Crusaders lacrosse team, juniors Ian Rush and Brendan Daschke, had the honor and privilege to be selected to be a part of the Polish Heritage team. Back in 2018, both Rush and Daschke played in Lacrosse All-Starts North American Invitational. In 2019, Rush played in both the LASNAI and the Heritage Cup, while Daschke also competed in LASNAI.

Last season, Rush appeared in 23 games for the Crusaders, started 23 games, while scoring 64 goals and adding 22 assists. He collected 111 ground balls and caused 34 turnovers. He had a season-high six goals and two assists v. Montreat (3/13/18), a season-high 10 ground balls and three caused turnovers v. Concordia (3/31/18). Rush earned All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Second Team honors.

Last season, Daschke appeared in 21 games for the Crusaders, scoring two goals and adding two assists. He collected 16 ground balls and caused eight turnovers.

Being able to compete and play for the Polish Heritage team was a major honor for them both, as they had multiple, life changing experiences. Check out the interview below, as I was able to sit down with them and hear all about those incredible experiences.
