Spencer Sarel (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) both posted three hits while junior
Mike Gansser (Lake In the Hills, Ill./Rochester Adams) collected two hits and scored three times on the day.
The Crusaders scored single runs in both the first and second innings of the opener as senior
Ted Toune (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center/Lansing CC) was hit by a pitch to open the game and moved up on a sacrifice bunt from Sarel. Bultinck then singled to center to score Toune for a 1-0 lead.
The Madonna lead grew to 2-0 in the second when Toune again scored, this time on a Sarel double to right center.
MU added three more runs in the fourth as Gansser and Khasawneh reached on back-to-back singles with one out. Toune followed with a single to score Gansser for a 3-0 lead. Sarel then reached on a Saint miscue that allowed freshman
Alex Charles (Farmington Hills, Mich./Brother Rice) - who was running for Khasawneh - to score for a 4-0 lead. Bultinck then singled to load the bases for Flavin and the Crusader first baseman hit a sacrifice fly to right to score Toune and put the Royal Blue and Gold on top 5-0.
The Crusaders blew the game open in the top of the fifth, scoring six runs to claim an 11-0 lead. Gansser drove in a pair of runs with a single that scored Charles and freshman
Brad Lineberry (Canton, Mich./Plymouth) to make it 7-0. Khasawneh followed with a single to move Gansser to second. After Toune drew a walk from reliever Chad Bowhuis to load the bases, Sarel delivered a sacrifice fly to right that scored Gansser for an 8-0 lead. Flavin came up two batters later and delivered his sixth home run of the season, a three-run shot to left that cleared the bases and gave MU an 11-0 lead.
Bolton (6-0) - who had allowed just one hit to this point - came out in the seventh and after striking out the lead off hitter, allowed a double and a single to Drew Huard and Jake Roe to put a pair of runners on. Bolton then got pinch hitter Kennen Less to go down looking on strikes and then got Jon Morse to ground into a fielder's choice to end the game.
In the final game of the series the Crusaders again got on the board first as Toune once again was hit by a pitch and moved to third on a Sarel single. Flavin drove in another run with his second sacrifice fly of the day to put the Crusaders on top 1-0.

Hansen (4-1) issued a one-out walk to Roe and after Morse flew out to right, Less singled up the middle but pinch runner Michael Penny was caught trying to get to third to end the game.
