GAME ONE
Right hander

Neither team got on the board until the top of the fourth when the Crusaders took advantage of a lead off walk to junior
Shawn Little (Canton, Mich.) and a single from sophomore
Billy Hardin III (Livonia, Mich.) to put runners at second and third with no one out. Senior
Zach Flavin (Novi, Mich.) grounded out to third but the drove in Little for a 1-0 MU lead. Hardin III came home one batter later when senior
Drew Fry (Madison Heights, Mich.) singled to center to make it 2-0.
MU added a single run in the fifth when sophomore
Drew Adamiec (Walled Lake, Mich.) reached on an error and courtesy runner
Ted Toune (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) moved to second on a failed pick off attempt and came home on a triple from Hardin III that made it 3-0 in favor of Madonna.
The Crusaders tacked on another run in the sixth when freshman
Brad Lineberry (Canton, Mich.) hit a sacrifice fly that scored fellow freshman
Steve Pelletier(Farmington Hills, Mich.) from third for a 4-0 lead.
Haldane kept the Crimson Wave at bay all day, allowing just one base runner to advance to second base while reaching double digits in strikeouts for the first time in his career while scattering five hits and not allowing a walk in picking up his first win in a Madonna uniform. Hardin III was the lone Crusader to post multiple hits while four different MU hitters drove in runs.
GAME TWO
The Crusaders (12-2) got another outstanding performance on the mound in game two of the day from junior
Trent Pohl (Grand Ledge, Mich.) in a 6-0 victory to complete the sweep.
Pohl struck out a career-high nine hitters while allowing just one hit in six innings of work to improve to 1-0 on the year. Sophomore
Chris Kangas (Westland, Mich.) came in to throw a perfect seventh inning to complete the day on the mound for the Crusader hurlers.
Fry led MU at the plate with a pair of hits while four MU hitters drove in runs in the victory.
The Crusaders put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first as Hardin III reached on a walk and moved to second on a passed ball before coming home on a ball off the bat of junior
Matt Kay (Canton, Mich.) that was misplayed on the CCSJ infield to make it 1-0 MU. The lead grew to 2-0 when Kay and Fry - who had singled - pulled off the double steal to increase the Crusaders lead.
MU added another run in the second when a ground out from Toune scored freshman
Alex Charles (Farmington Hills, Mich.) - who had doubled - to make it 3-0.
The Crusaders pushed the lead out to 5-0 in the third when Fry's singled but the ensuing throw was misplayed and that allowed Kay to score from second to make it 4-0. Run five came home when junior
Jeff Bultinck (Sterling Heights, Mich.) singled home Fry with the fifth MU run.
MU added another run in the fourth but it was more than enough for Pohl, who while walking four batters, allowed just one runner to get to second base in his six innings of work before giving way to Kangas to complete the shutout performance.
