Aquinas drew level one more time when Braeden Williams scored at 14:03 of the second quarter, making it 3-3. That was as close as the Saints would get. Hart put Madonna back in front at 5:33 on an assist from Preston, and the Crusaders took over after halftime.
Reid Dunavant scored twice in the opening 45 seconds of the third quarter, both times off assists from Gradstein, and Hart followed with another goal to extend the lead to 7-3. Regimbal added a goal later in the quarter, and Guppy scored with 35 seconds remaining to send Madonna into the fourth with a 9-4 advantage.
The fourth quarter turned into a runaway. Hart scored 59 seconds in, Gradstein followed 32 seconds later, and Regimbal converted off a Preston assist to make it 12-4 less than two minutes into the quarter. Hart added two more goals in the period, Preston scored off a Davis assist, and Guppy extended the lead to 16-4 before Hart's short-handed goal closed the scoring.
Madonna controlled the game in the possession battle as well, winning faceoffs 18-5 and finishing with a 31-20 edge in ground balls.
Jonathan Bendfeldt anchored the defense with 18 saves in 60 minutes, repeatedly turning away Aquinas chances as the Crusaders pulled away. Aquinas goalie Austin Hynote made nine saves. Madonna finished with 46 shots, 26 on goal, and held the Saints scoreless in the fourth quarter.
