Crusaders Fall to No. 10 Lawrence Tech on the Road

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Madonna Women's Lacrosse faced a tough road test Wednesday afternoon, falling to No. 10 Lawrence Tech 20–3 at Blue Devil Stadium.

Lawrence Tech came out strong from the opening draw, scoring 10 goals in the first quarter to take early control of the contest. The Blue Devils continued to build on their lead in the second quarter, adding three more goals to carry a 13–0 advantage into halftime.

Madonna battled to find momentum in the second half and broke through in the third quarter when Emma Volpe scored on a free-position opportunity to put the Crusaders on the board. Volpe continued to lead the offense in the fourth quarter, adding two more goals—including one assisted by Adrianna Kennedy—to complete the hat trick.

Despite the final score, the Crusaders showed resilience in the second half, holding Lawrence Tech to seven goals over the final two quarters after a fast start by the hosts.

Volpe led Madonna with all three goals, while Kennedy recorded an assist. Defensively, LeeAnn Johnson was active across the field with six ground balls and strong draw control efforts.

In goal, Olivia Vitantonio recorded 10 saves while facing 25 shots on goal, helping limit additional scoring opportunities throughout the contest.

Lawrence Tech was led offensively by Audrey Durham and Alyson Walendzak, who each scored four goals as the Blue Devils maintained control throughout the matchup.

Madonna will look to regroup as it continues conference play following the matchup against a nationally ranked opponent. The Crusaders will be on the road against for their next game when they travel to Indianapolis, Ind. when they face #9 Marian University at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Ascension St. Vincent Field.
