LIVONIA, MICH. – Madonna Women's Lacrosse delivered a dominant performance on both ends of the field Sunday afternoon, defeating Columbia College (S.C.) 20–0.
The Crusaders controlled the game from the opening draw, scoring five goals in the first quarter to establish an early lead.
LeeAnn Johnson opened the scoring before
Madi Conrad added two goals during the opening period.
Danielle Turner and Conrad each found the net again late in the quarter to give Madonna a 5–0 advantage after the first.
Madonna continued to build momentum in the second quarter with an eight-goal surge. Turner scored twice during the stretch, while Conrad and
Adrianna Kennedy each added goals of their own.
Erika Hernandez and Johnson also contributed to the offensive run as the Crusaders took a commanding 13–0 lead into halftime.
The offensive pressure continued in the third quarter as Madonna added six more goals. Kennedy recorded two during the period, while
Abigail Hanchett scored twice, including a man-up goal. Turner and
Bana Kadi also found the back of the net as the Crusaders extended their lead to 19–0.
Madonna capped the scoring in the fourth quarter when Hernandez scored her second goal of the game to secure the 20–0 victory.
Turner and Conrad led the Crusaders offensively with five goals each, while Kennedy contributed three goals and four assists. Johnson and Hernandez each finished with two goals, and Hanchett added two as well. Madonna's offense produced 41 total shots and controlled possession throughout the contest.
Defensively, the Crusaders held Columbia to just three shots and did not allow a shot on goal. Goalkeepers
Olivia Vitantonio and
Kaitlin Abraham combined for the shutout while Madonna also dominated ground balls and draw controls.
With the win, the Crusaders secured their first victory of the season in commanding fashion, showcasing a balanced attack and strong defensive performance. The Crusaders will look to continue their offensive domination against Franklin College on Saturday March 7, 2026. Saturday's matchup will be another home game for Madonna and is set to start at 11:00 AM.
