LIVONIA, Mich. – Madonna Women's Lacrosse continued its offensive surge Saturday afternoon, defeating Franklin College 15–7 at MU Soccer and Lacrosse Field. The win marks the Crusaders' second straight victory as Madonna has now scored an impressive 25 goals across its last two games.
Madonna wasted little time setting the tone, exploding for eight goals in the opening quarter.
Marissa Rushlow opened the scoring early before
Danielle Turner followed with back-to-back goals to push the Crusaders ahead.
Jodi Lekich,
Erika Hernandez,
Ri O'Connor, and
Madi Conrad all contributed during the dominant first quarter as Madonna jumped out to an 8–2 lead.
The Crusaders kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter.
Adrianna Kennedy tallied two goals in the period while Turner completed her hat trick to extend Madonna's lead to 11–3 heading into halftime. Madonna's balanced attack was on full display, with multiple players contributing both goals and assists to keep the Franklin defense on its heels.
Franklin attempted to chip away in the third quarter, scoring three times, but the Crusaders responded with key goals from
Abigail Magda and Lekich to maintain control.
LeeAnn Johnson later added a man-up goal late in the third to push the lead to 14–6 entering the final frame.
Kennedy capped off her strong performance early in the fourth quarter with her third goal of the game, giving Madonna its final tally of the afternoon. Kennedy and Turner each recorded hat tricks, while Conrad and Lekich both added two goals apiece.
Emma Volpe orchestrated the offense throughout the game, dishing out five assists to lead all players.
Defensively, the Crusaders received solid performances in goal from
Olivia Vitantonio and
Kaitlin Abraham, who combined for 11 saves on the afternoon. Madonna also held the advantage in draw controls and successfully cleared the ball on all 19 of its attempts, helping maintain possession and momentum throughout the game.
With the victory, Madonna continues to build momentum early in the season and is finding rhythm offensively. After scoring 25 goals across their last two contests, the Crusaders will look to keep the momentum rolling as they continue their schedule.
The Crusaders will be back in action next when they travel to Mishawaka, Ind. to take on Bethel University at 1:00 PM on Saturday March 14, 2026.
