Madonna Falls to LTU in Saturday WHAC Showdown

Box Score LIVONIA, Mich. — The Madonna University women's basketball team put together a strong second-half effort but ultimately came up short in an 81–67 loss to Lawrence Technological University on Saturday afternoon at Don Ridler Fieldhouse.

The Crusaders stayed within striking distance early, trailing by just two points after the opening quarter, but a productive second period by the Blue Devils created separation heading into halftime. Madonna showed resilience after the break, outscoring LTU in the third quarter and continuing to compete until the final horn.
Senior guard Terre'ya Moore lead all scoreres with 19 points, attacking the basket consistently and adding eight rebounds to her stat line. Sheneice Halmon followed with 15 points, while also providing energy on the defensive end with three steals. Faith Jungwirth contributed eight points and three assists, helping facilitate the offense throughout the afternoon.
Madonna finished the game with balanced contributions across the lineup, continuing to push the pace and apply pressure despite facing a double-digit deficit at halftime.

After trailing 48–29 at the break, the Crusaders responded with an improved offensive showing in the third quarter, scoring 22 points and cutting into the margin. Madonna's defensive intensity increased coming out of halftime, forcing turnovers and creating transition opportunities.

Lawrence Tech was able to answer in the fourth quarter, converting timely shots and free throws to maintain control down the stretch.

Madonna will look to build on its second-half momentum as conference play continues. The Crusaders remain focused on tightening execution and carrying their competitive effort into their next match up when they host Defiance College at home on February 11, 2026 at 5:30 PM at ACCU Arena.
