SPRING ARBOR, Mich.-- Madonna University traveled to Spring Arbor on Saturday to compete in the Cougar Classic 2. While both teams traveled to the event, Madonna's Intermediate team unfortunately had to pull from the competition due to an injury, ending their season.
MUCC Advanced brought out another well-executed performance, earning yet another program high score of 88.77. "I asked for consistency," reflects coach Amber Hauck, "and they gave it to me. This team has something special this year, I'm proud to be their coach week in and week out."
Also bringing home a program record, Spring Arbor narrowly topped the Crusaders with a score of 90.2. The Pilots of Bethel rounded out third with an 82.57 and Lourdes University took fourth with a 78.85 final score.
As the Crusaders head into post-season play, the theme of consistency remains the same. When asked how she focused on consistency, Senior Megan Buck replied "My focus was to practice the way that I perform, with full energy, sharp motions, and making sure to encourage my teammates and myself along the way."
The Crusaders take the mat for post-season at WHAC Championships held at Aquinas College on March 7th.
