LIVONIA, Mich. – Madonna University Cheerleading Head Coach Amber Hauck has officially announced the hiring of Evan McDowell as a Graduate Assistant for the cheerleading program. A familiar face to Crusader Nation, McDowell transitions into this new role following a successful career as a student-athlete with the Madonna University Cheerleading Team.
McDowell spent two seasons on the squad, earning recognition for both his athletic and academic achievements. He was honored with the Loyal Gold and Blue Award and was a two-time Academic All-Conference selection. A 2024 graduate of Madonna University, McDowell holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and currently works as a Registered Nurse at Michigan Medicine.
In his new role, McDowell will support the continued growth of the cheer program through a variety of responsibilities, including team organization, recruiting, roster management, and assisting with the program's budget. His experience and skill in stunting—particularly in coed techniques—will add a valuable component to the team's training and development.
"We are so excited to have Evan back in the program," said Coach Hauck. "His leadership, familiarity with the team culture, and professional expertise position him well to make a strong impact both on and off the mat. Evan is well-loved by our athletes who have known him as a teammate, and I can't wait to see what he brings to the table in this new role!"
