LIMA, Ohio. – The Crusaders traveled to the University of Northwestern Ohio yesterday evening take on the Racers in their second and final face-off against the Racers in the regular season. Madonna was left with a salty taste in their mouths last time the Racers came to Livonia, Michigan as UNOH took home the win by a score of 77-to-83. The Crusaders marched into "The Garage" and stole a win on their home court by a score of 95-to-90.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Madonna Men's Basketball extends their win-streak to seven games after taking down the Racers on the road. The Racers saw three different Crusaders surpass the 20-point mark with
Brendan Young recording a double-double.
Isaac Anderson led the Crusaders in points by shooting 7-for-11 from the field and 11-for-13 from the free-throw line to end up with 25 points. Anderson also secured nine rebounds and two assists.
Brendan Young was also a massive two-way presence in Wednesday's contest as he finished just-shy of
Isaac Anderson's 25-point performance by scoring 23 points. More importantly, Young shot 7-for-13 from the field, 4-for-5 from the free-throw line, and an outstanding 5-for-10 from beyond the arc. Young's defensive skills were also on display with him snatching 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and one block.
Matthew MacLellan continues his offensive leadership in the paint as after Wednesday's matchup he is on a 16-game streak of having double-digit points. Against UNOH, MacLellan rounded out the 20 point and above performances by securing 20 points on the dot. Matthew shot 6-for-9 from the field, 5-for-8 from the free-throw line, and stellar 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
Starters
Ahmoni Weston and
Ethan Emerzian also provided scoring support. Weston finished with 12 points and Emerzian ended the night with nine points.
The Crusaders continue to shine in tough games as they were down by ten points with five minutes remaining in the game. The Crusaders found a way to comeback and tie the game at 88 a piece and controlled the game by holding the lead until the very end. With Wednesday's win the Crusaders move to 15-9 on the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Matthew MacLellan secured the most three-pointers in a game for himself since January 20, 2024, against Indiana Tech when he went 4-for-9.
- Isaac Anderson's 20-point performance notches his sixth game this season with 20 or more points.
- Brendan Young's records his 11th double-double of the 2024-25 season.
