ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Madonna Crusaders Women's Basketball team traveled to Rochester Christian University where they would face the Warriors in what would be the final match up in their three-game road stretch. The Crusaders would struggle to get going for the majority of the game, and would fall to the Warriors 92-to-60.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The last time these two met in early December, the Crusaders would take the win, so the visiting side would be looking to improve that record to two-and-zero against the Rochester Christian Warriors for the season. With both teams coming off of three-straight losses in conference play, it would be a fight to stay within the Top 10 in the WHAC standings and in playoff contention.
Scoring wouldn't open until over two minutes in, the Warriors finding the basket first and remaining in the lead for the first quarter.
Faith Jungwirth would capture the first points for the Crusaders, ending the first with four consecutive points.
Delani Robinson would capture five points. The Warriors would dominate the first quarter, taking it 25-12. The Warriors would continue to press offensively in the second, bringing their point margin to a difference of 24 with a lead of 49-to-25 to round out the first half.
The Crusaders would narrow the margin slightly,
Marcela Rodriguez bringing her points total to eight, trying to bring some energy back into the visiting side. Jungwirth would remain 3-for-3 from the field. The Warriors would continue to dominate in transition off of turnovers and inside the paint on rebounds, shooting fifty percent in the contest. 67-45 would be the scoreline after three.
The Crusaders would try to get some more offense going in the fourth, starter
Terre'ya Moore capturing 11 points, but the Warriors held on to their comfortable lead, winning 92-60.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Moore would finish the game with 11 points and seven rebounds
- Chenelle King would capture 10 points and four assists
