GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Madonna Men's Basketball hit the road yesterday evening to head west and face the Aquinas College Saints. The Crusaders were looking to extend their winning streak after taking down Sienna Heights. Aquinas College pulled away with a tight victory over the Crusaders with a final score of 73-to-76.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Seniors,
Matthew MacLellan and
Isaac Anderson led the way for the Crusaders in offense. MacLellan finished with 20 points and seven rebounds while shooting 8-for-12 from the free-throw line. Anderson had a strong showing as he notched 17 points, five rebounds, and two steals.
Nikola Sasaroga took care of business coming off the bench and going 5-for-5 from the field which totaled to 12 points and pulled down two offensive and defensive rebounds.
Aquinas' depth really showed this game as four players finished the game with double-digit points. Caden Pokorzynski posted an impressive double-double with 19 points and 18 rebounds. Terrance Jones secured 15 points, Devon Boyd had 14 points, and Jadakiss Lewis finished with 11 points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Matthew MacLellan surpassed the 1,000-point milestone.
- The Crusaders notched 19 points from the bench.
- Brendan Young secured nine rebounds with two being offensive and 7 being defensive.
