LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Madonna University baseball team (21-22, 16-11) returned home for a single game against Lawrence Tech University (25-16, 17-9). The Crusaders would fall to the Blue Devils 7-9.    

Game 1:

Entering the only game of the day the Crusaders would look to continue their offensive showcase from Sunday and would do so throughout this game. Lawrence Tech would kick things off in the first inning, recording one run in the top of the first but Trey Rowley, who would get the start on the mound, was able to get out of a bases loaded no outs jam and only giving up the one run. The Crusaders would tie the game up in the bottom of the second off a David Aberouett single for his first RBI of the season in just his third start behind the plate. Lawrence Tech would then pick up three runs in the top of the 4th to make it a 4-1 ballgame. The rest of the game was a back and forth affair from the 5th inning on with Lawrence Tech scoring exactly one run in every inning and Madonna scoring at least one run in every inning but the 6th inning. In the 5th inning the Crusaders would see back to back homeruns from Anthony Sharkas and Pablo Rebollar to make it a 5-3 ballgame. Then again in the 7th, Rebollar would get another home run, with this one being a two run shot to make it a 7-5 game. Josh Medrano would pick up an RBI in the 8th on a sacrifice fly as a pinch hitter. And in the ninth Avain Rivera would pick up an RBI on the sacrifice fly but would not be enough to come back as the Crusaders would fall 7-9.
