LIVONIA, Mich,- The Madonna Crusaders, coming off a tough loss to Lawrence Tech, brought the energy in a Friday afternoon match-up with the Cougars of Spring Arbor University. Madonna took down the Cougars in a dominating fashion by walking away with a 22-point win and a final score of 87-to-65.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
The Crusaders were coming into this Friday afternoon match-up with the Cougars hungry and looking to get back into the winning column. Led by Weston and Young, Madonna did just that by taking a commanding 27-point lead to conclude the first half. Brendan Young started off hot and helped the Crusaders gain such a lead by shooting 3-for-6 from three and tallying 16 points. Ahmoni Weston presented a strong showing on both sides of the ball by notching nine points, two steals, and one block all in the first half. Madonna ends the half by putting up an impressive 48 points to Spring Arbor's 21 points.
 
After Coach Emenhiser and Coach Kerfoot gave their insight in the locker room, the Crusaders picked up right where they left off in the first half by dominating the Cougars for another 20 minutes. Weston paved the way for the Crusaders in the second half as he scored 12 points, one assist, and two steals. Sho-Ron Graham and Satchel Love both ended the second half with six points with Graham shooting 2-for-4 from three and Love going 3-for-4 from the field, having 4 assists, and 2 steals.
 
The Crusaders licked their wounds and left the past behind as they emerged in today's game as an offensive and defensive powerhouse and was ultimately too much for the Cougars to handle.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Ahmoni Weston caps off a stellar performance with 21 points, five rebounds, two assists, four steals, and one block.
• Brendan Young shined beyond-the-arc by going 4-for-8 and secured 19 points.
• Sho-Ron Graham finds his rhythm from three as well by going 3-for-5 and finishing with 9 points.
