DEARBORN, Mich. - After a one game hiatus from Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play, the Crusaders returned to Michigan to face the UM-Dearborn Wolverines this weekend. After a big first half, the Crusaders would cruise to a 73-59 victory over the Wolverines to win their fourth straight.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Crusaders and the Wolverines took it to each other in the first quarter. After a great shooting start in the opening minutes, a layup from
Chenelle King gave them a sizable seven-point lead early 18-11 with two minutes left in the first quarter. However, the Wolverines would have an answer, getting all the way back within a point of the Crusaders at the end of the quarter, 18-17.
While the game would remain close in the beginning of the second quarter, the Crusaders would go on a run to end the half. With five points from
Dekota Smith in the final minute-and-a-half, the Crusaders went into halftime up 40-33.
In the second half, the Crusaders would continue to grow their lead as the Wolverines' shooting cooled down. They would go on to win 73-59 and secure their fourth-straight win.
