SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- The Madonna University Competitive Cheerleading program took the mat for the first time in their 2024 campaign at the first ever Cougar Classic hosted by Spring Arbor University (Mich.) on Saturday, January 20 after their first two competitions were canceled or postponed due to weather related reasons. The Crusaders were able to take second place with a score of 72.48.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
"Team 3" went into their first meet on Saturday looking to take home a win in the five team competition with Spring Arbor (Mich.), Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio), Point Park (Pa.) and Huntington (Ind.). The Crusaders came into the meet already battling some adversity with battling through some injuries, but persevered and come away with second place with score of 72.48. The Crusaders score was 0.69 points away from the first place Courgars of Sping Arbor who took home first place.Â

Felicity Rodriguez filled in last second, and
Kira Nieves shifted to flying a difficult spot for stunt and pyramid, amazing job by these kids."
