GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Madonna Crusaders (9-8, 5-6) traveled to Grand Rapids to take on Aquinas College (8-9, 5-6). The Crusaders would fall to the Saints 90-43.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders traveled to Grand Rapids to take on the Saints who are currently ranked 7th in the WHAC led by the third leading scorer in the country Alona Blackwell who, heading into this match-up, was averaging just over 33 points a game.  In the first half the Crusaders would hang around with the Saints finding themselves only down 13 at the half. The second half would prove to be all the Saints as the Crusaders struggled to score in the second half, scoring only 16 points throughout the entire half with a final shooting percentage of 21.3% from the field and 18.8% from three and would fall to the Saints 90-43. Kayiona Willis would get right back into her groove after missing a few games to lead the Crusaders in scoring with 18 points. Willis would also grab seven rebounds in 26 minutes of action. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Aaliyah McQueen would finish with 13 points, three rebounds, and three steals.
• Blackwell would finish with 34 points and nine assists.

UP NEXT:

The Crusaders will return home on Saturday, January 20th to take on #23 Indiana Tech (13-3, 10-0). The tip is set for 1:00 pm.
