Women 6th, Men 8th at Wayne State Invite

NEW BOSTON, Mich. - The Madonna cross country teams took a short trip south to Willow Metropark to compete at the Wayne State University Warrior Invitational on Friday evening. The men finished 8th in the team standings with 230 points, while the women took 6th with 164 points. The host Warriors swept the team titles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The men were led by Cameron Kruse in 41st place, who completed the 8k course in 27:13.80. He was followed by Lucas Eccleton in 66th with a time of 28:17.40, while Ryan Nicholson was 69th in 28:27.60. Sean Massa was 92nd with a time of 30:04.00, while Damari Williams was right behind in 93rd with a time of 30:10.10. 

For the women, Abigail German finished 29th with a 6k time of 24:55.20. Alexis Spitzey was next for the Crusaders with a 37th place finish, running 25:05.10. Jessica Phillips was 39th in 25:08.60, while Lauren Hamilton was 40th in 25:20.90. Izzie Lashaway completed the scoring for Madonna in 46th place, running 25:42.90.

Madonna has a week off before competing at the Rose-Hulman Invite on Friday, September 29th in Terre Haute, Indiana.
