Men's Soccer ties at Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The Madonna University men's soccer team settled for a 0-0 tie at Spring Arbor University on Wednesday night. With the tie, Madonna's record stands at 3-2-1 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Despite the scoreless draw, there were several chances for both the Crusaders and Cougars to find the back of the net. In the first half, Madonna outshot SAU 7-4, while Afonso Henrique made one save for the Crusaders. Cougar goalie Matt LeBlanc matched Henrique in the first half with one save. 

The second half was much like the first, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net. Madonna again outshot SAU, this time 4-2. Henrique and LeBlanc each made two saves, and both teams ended the same way they started, with no goals being scored. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 
  • Ryota Nakajima led the Crusaders with four shots, while Andres Gomez Rubiano took three shots. 
  • Corey Matthews took two shots for Madonna.
  • The Cougars were led by Rood Schnaider, who took two shots. 
  • Madonna's all-time record against the Cougars is now 23-3-2.
