Petzak Wins WHAC Individual Golf Title, Madonna Finishes Fourth

AUGUSTA, Mich. -- This past weekend, the Madonna University men's golf team competed at the WHAC Championships from the Stoatin Brae Golf Club. The Crusaders finished fourth out of 12 teams with a three round score of 902.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Madonna was led by Brandon Petzak, who won the WHAC Individual Championship with a total score of 211. Petzak shot 69 in round one, before finishing the tournament with a 74 and 68 to finish one stroke ahead of Noah Honinger from UNOH. Petzak earned First Team All-WHAC honors for his efforts and was also named WHAC Golfer of the Year. He also landed on the WHAC Champions of Character team.

In a tie for 13th was Harrison Bowman with a total score of 220. Bowman shot 71 in round one, 73 in round two, and shot a final round 76. Bowman earned Second Team All-WHAC honors following the tournament. 

Completing the scoring for the Crusaders was Alex Mei in a tie for 36th place with a 236 and Evan Westphal in a tie for 41st place with a 239. Earning WHAC All-Academic honors for Madonna was Adam Eischen and Gabe Martin.

Madonna will wait and see if anyone is selected for the NAIA National Championships May 16-19 from the Las Sendas Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona.
