Madonna Falls at Lourdes

SYLVANIA, Ohio - Following their tough loss to the University of Northwestern Ohio at home, the Crusaders had to hit the road to face their next conference opponents in the Gray Wolves of Lourdes University. The Crusaders could not put together an offensive push against the Gray Wolves' tough defense and would fall 75-53 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Gray Wolves got the jump on the Crusaders early, putting up a 10-0 lead on them less than three minutes into the game. A pair of free throws from Sophie Ruggles would get the Crusaders on the board five minutes into the match. A layup from Delani Robinson and a free throw by Paige Humerickhouse would help to put a dent in their deficit, but it would not be enough to make a meaningful difference as the Gray Wolves led 20-5 at the end of the first. The second quarter would prove to be much of the same for the Crusaders, as they found themselves unable to find their presence offensively. The Crusaders found themselves down 40-12 going into halftime.

Coming out of the halftime break, Marcela Rodriguez would knock down the first three-pointer of the night for the Crusaders as they tried to eat away at the Gray Wolves' lead. Despite their efforts, the Gray Wolves would still lead 60-29 at the end of the third. Bre'Aira Burton would hit a three-pointer of her own to start the fourth quarter on a positive note for the Crusaders. Unfortunately, the Crusaders were unable to cut their deficit by then, and the Gray Wolves would go on to win 75-53.
