LIVONIA, Mich. - It was a big day for the Madonna University men's basketball team on Saturday. The Crusaders (10-2, 6-0 WHAC) defeated the University of Northwestern Ohio (3-8, 2-4 WHAC) 102-72 inside Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena, giving head coach Noel Emenhiser his 250th career coaching victory. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After UNOH went ahead 16-11 in the first half, Madonna responded with a 12-0 run to go ahead 23-16 and force a Racer timeout. The Crusaders kept their foot on the gas pedal from there, ultimately taking a 45-27 halftime lead following a three-pointer by Jordan Graham. It was an impressive offensive display by the Crusaders in the first 20 minutes, led by Ethan Emerzian with 11 first half points, while Graham and Brendan Young each had seven.

Madonna didn't back down in the second half, going ahead by 40 points after a three-pointer by Matthew MacLellan. The Crusaders led by as many as 44 points on their way to the victory. Young added 14 points in the second half to finish with 21, while Madonna as a team outscored the Racers 57-45 and shot 62 percent from the field. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Madonna has now won eight straight games.
• Young posted a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. 
• Isaac Anderson added 14 points and eight rebounds. 
• MacLellan added 13 points and six rebounds.
• Devin Dunn finished his night with 11 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. 
• UNOH was led by Ryan Archey with 21 points. 
• This is the first time in program history that the Crusaders have started WHAC play 6-0.
