LIVONIA, Mich. - Madonna volleyball opened the WHAC Tournament with a 3-0 quarterfinal victory over Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday night. The Crusaders advance to Friday's semifinal and will face Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Madonna struggled in the opening set, hitting just .179 but managing to come away with a 25-23 victory over the Wolverines. Set two saw the Crusaders find their groove, as they took a 2-0 lead with a 25-22 victory. Madonna's hitting percentage improved in the second set, as they swung .268 in the second frame. 

Set three saw the Crusaders continue to play well and hit a match high .324. UM-Dearborn never stood a chance as Madonna came out on top in the third set 25-18. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• The Madonna offense was led by Tauri Hintz with 12 kills. 
• Kira Buza added 10 kills, three aces, and two blocks. 
• Karlee Stoll finished with 22 assists for the Crusaders, while Kacie Stoneburner recorded 18. 
• Khloee Stoll posted 16 digs.

Madonna and Indiana Tech will square off Friday evening with a trip to the WHAC Final on the line.
