FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Despite a valiant effort from the Madonna University volleyball team, the Crusaders fell 3-0 to the top-seeded Warriors of Indiana Tech in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The host Warriors and Madonna came out strong in set one, trading points back and forth as no team led more than two points. The Crusaders found themselves trailing, 23-22 when senior Sophia Maninhardt had a kill to tie things back up at 23-23. However, the Warriors pulled through and showed why they're the WHAC Regular Season Champions and scored the last two points to take set one 25-23.
The Crusaders battled hard in the first set, but they were never able to gain momentum back as they dropped the second set 25-18 and what would be the final set, 25-19.
