LIVONIA, Mich. - Madonna University volleyball (16-10, 11-5 WHAC) earned their third straight victory with a 3-0 sweep of Concordia University (17-10, 8-8 WHAC) on Wednesday night inside Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena. The sweep is Madonna's third straight, as they swept Lourdes and UM-Dearborn last Friday and Saturday. The Crusaders also split the season series with the Cardinals.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The first two sets were back and forth, as neither team could grab a big lead. The Crusaders won the first set 26-24, before winning set two 25-23. Madonna hit .208 in set one and .273 in set two, compared to Concordia who hit .151 and .121. 

After two close sets, the Crusaders dominated set three with a 25-14 victory to claim the match. Madonna improved on their hitting percentage from the first two sets, this time hitting .345. They jumped out to a 5-0 lead on the Cardinals and never looked back in the final set of the evening. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 

• Kira Buza led Madonna offensively with 11 kills while Jaeda Porter finished with nine and Hannah Keenan recorded eight. 
• Madonna had 11 blocks compared to just one for Concordia. Buza finished with six total for the Crusaders while Porter and Sophia Mainhardt each had four. 
• Kacie Stoneburner finished with 20 assists.
• Karlee Stoll had another strong night with 17 assists and 13 digs, while Khloee Stoll led Madonna with 18 digs. 

UP NEXT:

Madonna will head to Grand Rapids for a two game road trip. The Crusaders will take on Cornerstone University first with match time set for 7:00 PM inside Mol Arena.
