LIMA, Ohio - Madonna University men's soccer won their third straight match on Wednesday, defeating the University of Northwestern Ohio 3-1 in a huge Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match. The win pushes the Crusaders to 10-3-2 overall and 6-1-1 in WHAC play, while the Racers fall to 4-8-3 and 3-3-2. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Crusaders struck first in the 19th minute thanks to a goal from Dakota Klindt. Trailing 1-0, UNOH found the equalizer in the 30th minute. Both sides headed into the halftime break tied at 1-1, with the hosts holding a 5-1 advantage in shots taken. 

A goal by Yan Brun in the 51st minute put Madonna ahead 2-1. Brun's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Andres Gomez Rubiano. In the 61st minute, Gomez found the back of the net himself to add insurance for the Crusaders. The seventh goal of the season for Gomez was assisted by Ryushin Hirami. Madonna was able to use the strong second half to secure the victory.
