LIVONIA, Mich. - The Madonna University Volleyball team dominated the court in another home game hosted at Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena. After coming off a close 3-2 win over Spring Arbor University on Oct. 7th, the Crusaders came back strong, taking a fierce 3-0 victory over the Warriors of Rochester University (Mich.). Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
The first set opened with a strong start from Rochester, who would achieve the first few scoring plays of the match. However, with the Crusaders down by just a few points halfway through the first set, the Warriors slowly started to lose their early lead. With killer plays from multiple Madonna players, the Crusaders would ultimately take the first set 25-17. Â
The second set proved to be a breeze for the Madonna team. With multiple errors from the Warriors, the Crusaders were able to take a quick and sweeping lead. After numerous successful scoring opportunities, Madonna would win the second set, beating the Warriors with a dominant 25-8 score. Â
With two winning sets under their belt, the Crusaders breezed through the third and final set of the night. While the score was closer than both the first and second sets, the Madonna University Volleyball team captured another Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) win with a 25-18 victory. Â
