LIVONIA, Mich. -  The Madonna University women's basketball team hosted the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on Wednesday night. Madonna fought hard through the whole game until the last buzzer. Unfortunately Madonna fell short with final score of 59-50.    

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Throughout the first quarter Madonna was trailing behind by a few points.. Entering the second quarter trailing 13-9, the Crusaders outscored the Blue Devils by one point 12-11, entering halftime down 24-21. 

Starting the second half strong, Madonna came out with their game faces fighting to decrease the point difference upheld by the Blue Devils. Throughout the second half, both teams fought neck and neck to gain the lead. As the third quarter concluded, Madonna out scored the Blue Devils 17-13, gaining the lead, 38-37, while entering the final quarter. Ashley Hill led the Crusaders with 16 points, and Sophia Ruggles led the Crusaders with 14 rebounds.  Continuing on the court, Madonna fought to keep the lead, but unfortunately at the final buzzer, the Crusaders fell short, 59-50. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Hill finished with 16 points and six rebounds.
• Delani Robinson posted 10 points.
• Ruggles grabbed 14 rebounds. 
• Brooklyn Ragland recorded eight points and hauled in four rebounds.
