Crusaders Fall in a Tough Loss With the Cougars

ANN ARBOR, Mich. –  Madonna University's Women's Basketball Team took a tough loss at Spring Arbor University falling 61-50 on Wednesday evening. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Crusaders found themselves in a close match up with the Cougars of Spring Arbor as they found themselves leading for much of the game. The Crusaders ended the first quarter up 17-16 after back to back baskets from Delani Robinson to end the quarter. The Crusaders would then hold that lead through the second quarter seeing it grow to as much as five but would go into the half tied 32-32. 
In the second half the Crusaders looked to take the lead back but it was the Cougars who would grow a lead as big as five before a couple big three pointers from Robinson would close the third quarter with the score tied at 44 a piece. Unfortunately in the 4th quarter the Crusaders struggled to find a basket only putting up six points in the quarter shooting 3-18 from the field and 0-9 from three, allowing the Cougars to grow their lead to as much as 11 and win with the final score of 61-50. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Robinson would lead in scoring for the Crusaders with 17 points.
  • JaC'ana Anderson and Ashley Hill would each score 10 points.
  • Anderson would also lead in rebounds with 7.

UP NEXT
The Crusaders will finally return home after their 3 game road trip to face Lourdes University on Friday, December 9th. Tip off is set for 5:30 pm.
